Praised for sensitivity, clarity, intelligence and exquisite coordination, Xenia Pestova (New Zealand/Canada) and Pascal Meyer (Luxembourg) received rave reviews for performances of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s MANTRA. This project was featured at international festivals and venues including the Philharmonie Luxembourg, Festival Archipel (Geneva), Live@CIRMMT (Montreal), Cork School of Music (Ireland), Festival Voix Nouvelles Royaumont (France), New Zealand School of Music and Festival Musikhøst (Denmark).
Their CD recording of MANTRA was released on NAXOS in 2010 and is the first recording to use digital technology for the electronic processing.
Pestova and Meyer were recently featured as soloists in the two-piano concerto Dialoge by Bernd Alois Zimmermann with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (OPL) conducted by Arturo Tamayo during Festival Rainy Days and at the prestigious Festival Musica in Strasbourg with Peter Hirsch. More recently, they performed a new two-piano concerto by Petar Klanac with the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal and Fluchten/Agorasonie by Clemens Gadenstätter with the OPL (conducted by Peter Rundel).
Their upcoming projects include an ambitious three-CD recording of the complete works for two keyboards by John Cage for Naxos Records.
